Pistachio
was a dynamic genetic powerhouse for milk. When he was offered
for sale by the McClure's of Six M Galaxy I jumped at the chance
to introduce his genetics into our herd. We were not disappointed.
I'm grateful to the McClure family for allowing Pistachio to come
work in our herd.
Pistachio has done
all I believed he would do. His daughters are showing themselves
beautifully in our herd in both milk and show. It is exciting
to see his genetics at work.
Pistachio was razor
sharp in the withers and smoothly blended. He was a very tall,
long legged buck. Strong boned and upstanding, who was extremely
level and long bodied. He stood on the strongest pasterns possible
and dripped dairy from head to toe. Traits he generously passed
on to his daughters. His daughters include; SGCH
Jacobs Pride Pistachio Candy 9*M TOP TEN in all 3 categories,
SG Jacobs Pride PCA Razmataz
9*M (2 legs) and SG Jacobs Pride
Kimia 6*M 05’ USDA-DHIA Elite Doe. Not only was Pistachio
genetically packed for milk, but he was a milking buck himself.
A physical trait that's proven to produce daughters that milk
strong, and sons to carry on a strong milking ability into future
generations. Pistachio stands at the top of the list of 05’
USDA-DHIA Elite Sires. He was true treasure to have owned. |

Rock
N' Roll met an untimely death last summer in 2004. Just 3 days
before his first show. He was lost to urinary calculi. Veterinary
intervention and surgery was of no avail.
Rock N' Roll was a tremendous buck with an outstanding pedigree.
The contribution he briefly made are sadly missed, but thankfully
will live on through AI and in our genetics. |

Woody
had the most delightful personality along with some strengths
he inherited from both his parents I wanted to incorporate. Woody
was used almost extensively in outside breedings. However, we
have one outstanding junior herd sire; Tri The
Candywood by Woody out of our doe SGCH.
Jacobs Pride PistachioCandy 9*M TOP TEN Breed Leader in all
3 categories. Woody was tall and upstanding as well as being a
tremendously dairy buck. He had a beautiful rear leg set along
with good width between his hocks. His litter mate sister is Hollywood
Star. |
