Wana is the result of a tight inbreeding. I had high expectations with such a tight breeding to match her up to her dam, Bernice upon freshening. I am not disappointed! She is extremely dairy but also immature in her structure. I assume it is due to the fact of her tight line breeding which I knew most likely would come into play. Wana is beginning to fill in and develop now as a 3 year old. I suspect by the time she is 5, she will be awesome.
The mammary on this doe is outstanding. She has a tremendous MSL, perfect teat placement on her udder floor. The udder is high and snuggly attached with great side attachments. Wana milks out totally, without an ounce of tissue in her mammary. It couldn’t be any closer to an empty glove with that beautiful buttery feel to her mammary. She is pure pleasure to milk by hand. It is such a pleasure to have mammaries like hers.
Wana’s breed character about the head and ear couldn’t be more beautiful. It is stunning to behold, with that beautiful bell to her ear that is mentioned in our breed standard.
Wana received a serious injury 2 years ago requiring several stitches right before our 05’ linear appraisal and was coded NIC at appraisal. Last year, our herd missed our first ever linear appraisal, much to my dismay and anguish over missing it. So finally, Wana will have her 1st appraisal in 07’
Wana has a personality that is quite exceptional. She is the sweetest, quietest and most loving doe in our herd and we have some real sweeties. She is always loving, gentle and willing to please. She is excepting of any change. And she always insists on nuzzling my face whether she is at home or in the show ring.
